Description
A freehold Grade II Listed chapel located in Garsdale, Sedbergh. The chapel is in need of some renovation and would suit a variety of uses subject to planning approval. The chapel extends circa 50 Sq M/538 Sq Ft.

The official Historic England listing reads:
Primitive Methodist chapel. Dated 1841. Coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, stone slate roof. Rectangular single cell building parallel to road. Plain style. Single storey, 2 windows, symmetrical: a square-headed doorway in the centre with monolithic lintel, flanked at a higher level by rectangular 12-pane windows which have tilting casement openings in the top tier. Both gable walls covered by later buildings. Rear fenestration similar to front. The Interior: 5 tiers of simple panelled pews rising from the centre to the east gable wall, facing a simple raised pulpit at the west end; plastered walls, flat ceiling.
A good example of its type, apparently little altered.

Garsdale Valley offers excellent links between North Yorkshire, Cumbria, and the Lake District. The popular market town of Hawes is just eight miles away and provides a good range of amenities, including shops, cafés, pubs, a doctor’s surgery, and a primary school. Sedbergh, also eight miles away, offers similar facilities along with a secondary school and the renowned public school. Garsdale Head railway station, only a couple of miles from the property, lies on the famous Settle–Carlisle line and provides convenient connections to mainline stations, while the M6 motorway is within a half-hour drive. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking directly from the doorstep, and the area is rich in wildlife, with regular sightings of red squirrels and a wide variety of birds.
