Business Growth Priority Streets Scheme
The Priority Streets Scheme aims to encourage business growth and new job opportunities in Bradford City Centre. This is a targeted scheme for specified streets offering a package of assistance to include property improvements and/or the purchase of machinery or equipment along with a business rate rebate (subject to job creation). The scheme is available to property owners or tenants in identified Priority Streets ( Darley St is included in this) wanting to bring vacant ground floor premises with an indentified end user back into commercial use. Existing businesses within the targeted area that are expanding into unoccupied space within their premises and which will directly result in additional jobs being created or an increase in the rateable area may also be eligible.
Potential City Centre Townscape Heritage Scheme
Bradford Council has introduced a Townscape Heritage scheme.
This is a potential Heritage Lottery Fund and Bradford Council grant scheme which could help property owners and tenants restore their historic buildings within part of the Bradford City Centre Conservation Area.
Building upon recent and on-going regeneration activity in the area, the aim of the grant scheme is to repair historic buildings and bring them back into use.
Although this project is in its very early stages and could take around 18 months to develop, we need to gauge the level of interest from owners and tenants to support our funding bid. We will be writing to all owners and tenants of target buildings in the near future and will update our website with further news when available.
