Two historic stone barns near Harrogate go up for auction

A pair of stone barns, both with panoramic views of the surrounding Yorkshire dales countryside are to feature in Pugh’s next online property auction on 24 February, along with around 70 other properties and plots of land across the UK.

One of the properties is at Fewston Reservoir and lies within the Nidderdale AONB. The ancient barn is a grade II‐listed building and is set in almost half an acre of land. It has been given a £40,000 guide price by the auctioneers.

Also located in the AONB, the second barn, which is not a listed building, is close to Thuscross Reservoir. On a site of almost half an acre in size, the barn has a guide price of £75,000.

Paul Thompson, managing director of auction house Pugh, said: “The two barns are in stunning Nidderdale locations, both with good access to the A59, and to Harrogate, Skipton and beyond.

“Potentially they would both make fabulous conversions to residential accommodation and consultation with the local authority planning department would be an essential first port of call for any potential buyers.”

Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic last March, Pugh has sold lots totalling over £38m at its auctions, which have been held on the firm’s online platform.

Pugh’s next auction, featuring the two barns as well as land and properties across the UK, will be held online on 24 February. Registration for the auctions closes at 12pm on 22 February and bidding opens on 23 February.
