Success for first-timer selling home at auction

Mr H contacted Pugh & Co looking to sell his home at auction and requested a free property appraisal, so he could find out how much his 3-bed semi detached house was worth.

One of our surveyors visited the property and conducted an auction appraisal, providing an indication for how much the property might achieve when sold at auction. Having never sold at auction before, our surveyor advised Mr H on the process and what to expect. The reserve price was confirmed and detailed property particulars were drafted – including detailed descriptions, photographs and map.

The property was then listed on our website, and subject to an extensive marketing campaign to target active property buyers, including:

  • Online advertising on leading property portals such as Rightmove & Zoopla
  • E-marketing campaign to 45,000 active property buyers
  • Social media coverage across Facebook & Twitter

This generated significant interest with a number of enquiries received and viewings, which subsequently led to a number of pre-auction offers being made.

Mr H accepted an offer that was 8% higher than his asking price before going to auction and was thrilled with the result.

He sent the Pugh Team the following message:

“Just wanted to say thank you to you and Hannah and the rest of your team in helping us sell the property. Great work!

I'll definitely be recommending your services to anyone I know looking to sell through auction in the future.”

Clients like Mr H trust Pugh to sell their home at auction, as they recognise our expert surveyors understand the local market and can achieve maximum value - while selling up to five times faster than a traditional estate agent.
