Stretford former substation up for auction

A redundant electricity substation in Stretford has been put up for auction with a guide price of £35,000. The building will feature among over 100 lots for sale at Pugh’s next North West property auction, at the AJ Bell Stadium in Manchester on 3 December.
The former substation, on Audley Avenue, is located on a 2,400 sq ft site that was previously given planning consent for the demolition of the 667 sq ft single‐story building, and for a new residential property to be built in its place.
Paul Thompson, managing director of Pugh, said: “The substation is in a good location in a residential neighbourhood, with the green space of Lostock Park nearby, and just a stone’s throw from junction 9 of the M60.
“As the planning consent has now lapsed, up‐to‐date permission would of course need to be obtained by any prospective buyer but the substation, or the site itself, represents a great opportunity to develop new residential accommodation in Stretford.”

Pugh & Co's next property auctions will take place at the AJ Bell Stadium in Manchester on 3 December and at Leeds United’s Elland Road football ground in Leeds on 5 December.
