Former Bradford & Bingley branch in Bolton up for auction

A retail unit that was used most recently as a branch of the Bradford & Bingley bank is due to go under this hammer later this month with a guide price of £200,000. Auction house Pugh is to include the former bank in its online auction of properties and parcels of land on 26 April.

The 8,500 sq ft four-floor property, whose upper floors were used as offices is on Victoria Plaza, fronting Oxford Street in Bolton town centre, once formed part of a department store.

Paul Parker, associate director at Pugh, said: “The property is in a great town-centre location right next door to the magnificent Bolton town hall and there is a huge range of potential new uses for it, subject to any new owner obtaining the necessary planning consent.

“Bolton has a multiple ambitious regeneration schemes underway, including the College of Medical Sciences development in Farnworth and  Crompton Place, which will be key to the £1.5bn transformation of the town centre. There are lots of exciting changes happening in Bolton and it looks to be a sound place to invest.”

Bidding on the Victoria Plaza property, and the other lots in Pugh’s online auction, opens on 26 April and closes the following day. To view the full catalogue, click here
