Dewsbury’s ‘Jimmy’s’ nightclub to go under the hammer

The former Jimmy’s nightclub and bar on Bond Street in Dewsbury is due to go under the hammer, one of over 100 lots in Pugh’s next property auctions which will be held online later this month.

The former nightspot has a £15,000‐£20,000 guide price. The property, at 24 Bond Street, is a 1,600 sq ft lower‐ground‐floor series of rooms in an ornate grade II‐listed building. A former wool textile warehouse and offices, 24 Bond Street was built in 1880 when Dewsbury was a major woollen industry centre.

The online auction will open at 10am on 23 April, with registration closing at 3pm on 22 April.

“This is a handsome period property with enormous potential for alternative uses, subject to a new owner gaining the relevant planning consent,” said Paul Thompson, managing director of Pugh.

“The upper floors have been converted to residential accommodation and it’s in a great location, close to Dewsbury town centre and the railway station.”
