Deluxe apartments in former Lancashire stately home up for auction

Two luxury three-bedroom apartments on the Lathom Hall Estate in Ormskirk are set to go under the hammer later this month with a guide price of £275,000 each. The duplex penthouse apartments in Lathom House will appear in auctioneer Pugh’s online property auction on 19 July.

Lathom House and Park dates to the 11th century and the park was one of the largest medieval deer parks in the North West.

In 1724 Lathom Park owner Thomas Bootle commissioned the fashionable Italian architect Giacomo Leoni to re-build Lathom House in the neo-classical style. Built between 1725 and 1740, the main block was demolished in 1925, having been used for military purposes during the First World War and, for a brief period, as a boys’ school.

The surviving wing of the house has been developed into luxury apartments and apartments 15 and 18, named ‘The Seacombe’ and ‘The Kenyon’, are both positioned to the rear of the hall. Each features a large open plan lounge and dining area, a luxury fitted kitchen and three large double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

Pugh Associate Director, Paul Parker, said: “Lathom House has been redeveloped to an extremely high standard and these apartments are simply stunning. Not only do they have three bedrooms and all mod cons, but they benefit from private outdoor space plus access to the parkland of Lathom Park.

“Needless to say we have had lots of interest from potential buyers interested in owning a their own unique piece of a stunning stately home.”

Bidding on luxury apartments at Lathom House and the other lots in Pugh’s online property auction, opens on 19 July and closes the following day. To view the full catalogue click here.
